Case study

Three designs.
One choice.

Multi-Fab Metals has been fabricating steel in El Campo, Texas since 1982 — grain handling systems, dust collection, custom work. What they didn't have was a website.

The usual way, and our way

The usual way to build a small-business site: show the client one mockup, talk them into it, and hope they still like it six months later. We don't love guessing with other people's money.

So we wrote the content once — every page, every photo caption, every call to action — and built three complete websites on top of it. Not three homepage sketches: three fully working four-page sites, each with its own typography, palette, and personality. The client clicked through all of them on a private preview link and chose the one that felt like their company.

Because the content lived in one place, picking a winner cost nothing: no rebuild, no "we'll carry that over later." The chosen design was promoted to production the same day.

Browse all three — these are real

These aren't screenshots. Every frame below is the actual working site, scaled down — click around inside, or open it full size. This first one is the chooser page exactly as the client saw it.

The chooser

The private preview link we sent the client: three doors, all open. Pick a variant in the frame and you'll be browsing it.

Variant A — Heavy Industry Dark

Charcoal and safety yellow, condensed type, full-bleed imagery. Built for impact — the site equivalent of a shop floor at full tilt.

Variant B — Clean Industrial Light

White and navy, card-based and conventional in the best way. The safest pick, closest to what their industry peers run.

Variant C — Texas Steel Heritage Client's pick

Cream and rust red with a slab serif — leaning into four decades of family-business history. The client’s pick, now in production.

What shipped

Variant C went live at multi-fabmetals.com: a fully static build with responsive images, self-hosted fonts, and no trackers or page-builder bloat — it loads fast on a phone in a field, which is where their customers are. Hosting runs on Cloudflare's edge at effectively zero monthly cost to the client.

The best part of the three-design approach? The client never had to imagine anything. They saw, they clicked, they chose. Well done, all around.
